Petition for President's Council on the Whole Child PDF Print E-mail

ASCD urges educators nationwide to sign a petition asking President Obama to create a President’s Council on the Whole Child. The petition was launched last Thursday through the White House’s We the People petition tool. A President’s Council comprising national leaders, state officials, educators, community members, and other experts would facilitate greater collaboration among the education, social, health, and safety agencies that support children and the coordination of programs at all levels to benefit families. Sign the petition today by visiting: http://wh.gov/BVR.

The Whole Child Award Application PDF Print E-mail

South Carolina ASCD sponsors this award program in support of ASCD Worldwide and The Whole Child Initiative. This program seeks to identify schools in South Carolina that have created a school culture with programs that exemplify one or more of the five tenets of The Whole Child Initiative: Healthy, Safe, Supported, Challenged, Engaged.

Schools applying for one of the awards will be required to submit a completed application along with supporting evidence to SC ASCD according to program timelines.  All applications will be reviewed by a selection committee to determine which schools should receive the recognition and a $1,000 grant, given for the purpose of implementing other goals related to one or more of the tenets of The Whole Child Initiative.

Please download The Whole Child Award Application here (MS Word format).
